I have so much more to say, and then also, I don’t have any words.

But I do know this is our work; and in my opinion, we can’t separate personal growth work from human rights work. If we say we are committed to becoming better people, to raising our vibrations, to spreading love and light, then this has to include searching out every part of ourselves that is not that.

This is uncomfortable work, deceptive work, it creates feelings of shame and guilt, it forces us to see our darkness in ways most of us would vehemently deny: this my friends, is the deepest shadow work.

If you’re not sure where to start, Me and White Supremacy by Layla F. Saad is incredible as is White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo. There are so many incredible leaders right now for us to learn from. It’s past time.

Know that you don’t have to do it all at once – that’s not the way shadow work occurs, anyway. But find a step, whatever that is for you, and start. Don’t let the overwhelm or fear of not doing it all at once be what keeps you from beginning.
